Always nice to see your work in print! I recently had a couple photos in a story for the Spring 2014 edition of American Institute of Interior Designers Icon magazine. The photos were of a 360 square foot studio apartment owned by architect, Bryn Davidson.
I actually photographed this property back in 2011! Bryn had put the apartment on the market, and his real estate agents, DK Group, hired me to take the photos. It was probably the smallest apartment I've seen in Vancouver (and I've seen a LOT). But Bryn and his wife had efficiently maximized the space in such a way that it seemed bigger than its 360 square feet let on. They took out load bearing walls, added tons of built-in storage, and utilized outdoor space.
Luckily I keep all of my photos on file, because a couple months ago, I received a call from the Realtor requesting the high res files. Apparently ASID wanted to run a story on the apartment, dubbed The Pod. She put me in contact with the magazine and here we are!
I loved The Pod, and Bryn is behind one of my favourite projects in Vancouver, Lanefab. Check out his work here and the latest issue of ASID icon here.
